Overview
An unvented cylinder takes water straight from the mains, giving you strong, consistent water pressure at every tap and shower in the house — no loft tank, no reduced flow when two outlets run at once. They're the standard choice for modern refurbishments, loft conversions, and any home where a traditional tank system can't deliver the pressure you need.
All unvented cylinder installations must be carried out and commissioned by a G3 qualified engineer. Every LSG installation includes a Benchmark commissioning checklist and building control notification.
Options
Heated by a boiler (or coil from a heat source) via an internal heat exchanger coil, rather than by its own electric element. This is the most common setup for homes with a gas or oil boiler, or those on a heat pump or solar thermal system.
Best for
Heated directly by an immersion element, with no boiler connection required. A straightforward option for properties without a central heating boiler, or as a standalone hot water solution.
